On October 25, 2016 the airline JSX (then branded as JetSuiteX) appear that JetBlue had fabricated a minority equity investment in the airline. Part of the agreement as well gave JetBlue a seat on JetSuite'southward lath of directors. Reasons for the investment was outlined past CEO Robin Hayes, stating "Our investment in JetSuite makes sense equally we continue to execute on our west coast plan and invest in innovative ideas that reflect the confusing spirit of JetBlue."[124] In JetBlue's 1st quarter 2018 investor call, JetBlue's CFO Steven Priest confirmed the airline held most 10% of JetSuiteX.[125] The airline was rebranded from JetSuiteX to JSX in August 2019.[126]

TWA Flight Middle Hotel [edit]

The TWA Hotel is the TWA Flying Center structure at JFK airport that was rebuilt into 505-room hotel. The hotel preserves the Eero Saarinen TWA head firm while replacing the structures on either side of the head business firm. Situated in front of JetBlue's JFK terminal, JetBlue has 5–10% ownership of the hotel.[127] [116] The hotel is an effective replacement for the Ramada Plaza JFK Hotel on the north end of the airport grounds in Building 144, which closed in 2009.[128]

Destinations [edit]

Equally of November 2021[update], JetBlue Airways flies to 104 destinations in the Americas, with most of them in the United States and the Caribbean, a smaller option of destinations in parts of Primal and Due south America, and two destinations in Europe.[129]

JetBlue offers Cadre (Main Cabin) seating across its armada. The Cadre cabin includes leather seats, complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary entertainment screens with DirecTV, Sirius XM Radio, and movies, equally well as complimentary snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.[145] [146]

Mint [edit]

Mint is JetBlue'due south concern class production,[147] and was originally available only on transcontinental domestic routes on select Airbus A321s starting in 2014. It includes fully lie-flat seats, some of which accept sliding panels for more than privacy. Mint was afterwards expanded to select Caribbean routes, and in 2021, an upgraded version of the service and seating was announced.

In-flight amusement [edit]

JetBlue's in-flight entertainment options consist of gate-to-gate Fly-Fi net access, over 100 channels of DIRECTV, Sirius XM Radio, and movies, and on the Airbus A321 and newer retrofitted Airbus A320 shipping, a xv-inch interactive video screen which is not bachelor on the rest of the fleet. JetBlue'southward partnership with Amazon lets customers watch Amazon Prime videos past connecting to Wi-Fi and downloading the Amazon Video app on their mobile phone or tablet.

The in-flight WiFi nether the "Fly-Fi" network is gratuitous on all flights, at speeds of 12–fifteen megabits per 2nd.

Frequent-flyer program [edit]

JetBlue'southward frequent-flyer program is called TrueBlue. Under the original TrueBlue program, flights were worth two, four, or vi points based on altitude of the flights, and double points were awarded for flights booked online.[148]

In September 2009, JetBlue made changes to its TrueBlue program.[149] In the new program, members receive three points for every dollar spent toward a flight, excluding taxes and fees, plus an boosted three points for every dollar spent on a flight if booked online directly on the JetBlue.com website. Additional points are awarded if the fellow member uses the Barclay's issued JetBlue Mastercard credit card to purchase the flying. The price of flights in points depend on the fare of the flight in U.S. dollars. The new program launched on Nov 9, 2009.[150] [151]

In June 2013, JetBlue announced that TrueBlue points will never elapse for whatever reason.[152] [153]

Incidents and accidents [edit]

  • September 21, 2005: Flight 292 en route from Bob Hope Airport in Burbank to New York JFK performed an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport (pictured) following a failure of the nose landing gear during retraction when it turned 90 degrees. The plane landed afterwards holding for about iii hours to burn fuel and therefore lighten the aircraft. The aircraft came to a stop without incident on runway 25L, the second-longest runway at LAX. The only credible harm to the airplane upon landing was the devastation of the front end wheels, which were ground downwardly to almost semicircles, and the tires; the front end landing strut held. No one sustained injuries.
  • March 27, 2012: Flight 191 en route from New York JFK to McCarran International Drome in Las Vegas performed an emergency landing at Rick Husband Amarillo International Aerodrome after the captain, Clayton Osbon, was locked out of the cockpit and subdued past passengers after he started interim erratically and ranting about terrorists. It is believed that Osbon suffered from an unspecified mental breakdown, and was treated by Northwest Texas Healthcare System. There were no fatalities.[154] [155] [156] This happened 3 years before the similar Germanwings Flight 9525 accident of an Airbus A320 in French republic.
  • On August 9, 2014, Flight 704 from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan to New York JFK aborted takeoff later one of the engines caught burn. All 186 passengers were evacuated from the aircraft. Two women received modest injuries during the evacuation.[157]
  • On Jan 22, 2022, Flight 1748 from Yampa Valley Airport in Hayden, Colorado to Fort Lauderdale International Drome in Florida experienced a tail strike during takeoff from track x, in an try to avoid a standoff with a Beechcraft Super Male monarch Air 350 that was on arroyo to the opposite rails. The shipping diverted to Denver International Airport and landed safely.[158]
